About - Seodóirí na Ríochta - Kingdom Jewellers, Killarney
Seodóirí na Ríochta is a family-owned jewellers in the heart of Killarney, County Kerry, specialising in contemporary jewellery, bespoke design services and jewellery repairs.
Known as "The Kingdom", County Kerry inspired the name, which translates to "Kingdom Jewellers." The Irish name was suggested by a local postman at the time-a choice that felt fitting.
Stephen, owner and goldsmith, began his career at 16 as an apprentice jeweller in a manufacturers called Steel & Dolphin, Birmingham. By 21, he was self-employed and began working in Birmingham’s Famous Jewellery Quarter.
He operated a workshop there making bespoke pieces and repairing jewellery for a range of local jewellery stores. During this time, he met Angela, his wife, through the jewellery industry. Angela’s deep ties to Ireland inspired the couple to travel extensively across the country before eventually settling in Killarney in 1996. Building on Stephen's entrepreneurial background and Angela’s passion for jewellery-along with her strong commitment to customer service. They went on to open their own store in 2000.
Today, Stephen continues his work as a goldsmith, while their daughter Claire manages and supports the day-to-day running of the shop. The team work closely together, sharing a genuine passion for what they do. They take pride in helping each customer find a piece that feels truly special.
The same care extends to their online store, where every item is thoughtfully selected to reflect the quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail that define the in-store experience. While most pieces are sourced from carefully chosen suppliers, a small number have been handmade by Stephen himself.
